Conference "Economy of IP Rights:
Tax Instruments Supporting Film Production
and Valuation of Copyrights"

Together with the Content Justice team, we participated in the conference titled “Economy of IP Rights: Tax Instruments Supporting Film Production and Valuation of Copyrights.”
Paweł Kossecki moderated two discussion panels: the first panel, “Challenges in Film Production Financing,” and the third panel, “Valuation of Intangible Assets and Distribution Challenges.” Halina Cegielski and Martyna Skrodzka also participated in the third panel.
The conference, which focused on intellectual property economics in the audiovisual industry, provided a forum for in-depth discussion of the current challenges facing film producers and creators.
The discussion centered on production financing, strategic copyright management, and the valuation of intangible assets
One of the key themes was the role of co-production as a tool enabling the realization of film projects amid growing competition and changing market conditions. Conference participants analyzed various film production financing models in use across different countries, presenting perspectives from, among others, the American, Polish, Swedish, and German film industries. This broad approach allowed for a comparison of available support instruments and the identification of best practices.
The event was organized by the Institute of Finance at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), led by Marcin Jamroż professor of SGH, Kossecki Tax Planning, the Center for Global Economy at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW), CIMA&AICPA, and the Silesian and Greater Poland Branches of the National Chamber of Tax Advisers.
